How to earn more profit per bottle by choosing the right bag and blade combination

If you are reading this you are probably already running your cold pressed juice business or are very seriously studying the idea of opening one.  Given that you have already gone this far, you should know that the key measurement that will help your business to flourish is….yield!  In simple terms, yield is the volume of cold pressed juice you get versus how much produce you put in.  If you have an equal weight of apples and carrots and you put them through your EXP7 with the bag and blade configuration set up for apples, you will certainly get more juice from the apples than the carrots.  Simple right?

Now we have to accept that we will always get more juice from apples than carrots, but what if I told you that you could increase the volume of juice you get from your carrots by 20%?  With the tight cell structure of carrots compared to apples, we need to break down the carrots further than apples in order to get to the juice locked inside.  All our machines come with three different sized shredder blades, and if you are juicing carrots you should use the smallest blade (2mm) to get a fine consistency when shredding.  For apples, you should use the medium blade (6mm).  Straight away by changing the carrot shredding to the 2mm blade you will see yield increase dramatically.

But we can do better than that!  We also have two bag types to choose from to help us improve yield: fine and coarse.  You can see from the photo the difference between the two.  With a coarse bag there is an open weave in the bag fabric, which allows fine pulp to flow through, and this means faster juice expression.  With the fine bag, there is tight weave in the bag fabric which minmises pulp and means slower juice expression.

If we go back to our example of apples versus carrots, if you now change the bag for the carrots from a coarse bag to fine bag you will actually see a much better quality juice from the carrots.  The juice will be smoother, aiding absorption, and will also look more attractive.

Given that there are six different bag and blade combinations available for every fruit and vegetable, it can be confusing.  However we have a very simple guide that will help you get the very best yield and we would be happy to share it with you.  Please get in touch for your free copy.
